Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

**6th Grade**
First off today, we looked at our unit overview for the current unit. This should give us an idea of what we're studying until around Thanksgiving.
Then, we readied ourselves for a discussion on diversity in Europe. It went great (I think). I was so excited to see so many students actively engaged and discussing!
Tonight for ZAE: complete this reflection on today's discussion. We will debrief tomorrow.

**7th Grade**
We started off today looking at the Tuareg and the Silent Trade and answering these questions. Interesting stuff, that nomadic life.
Then, we read listened to this song (here's what it means in English) and read a poem about nomadic lifestyles.
ZAE: Finish the figurative language in narrative writing sample sheet. Read half an hour. Find at least three examples of figurative language in your own independent reading book.
