Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT is tomorrow at SIX. This night is for PARENTS & GUARDIANS only - no kiddos!

**6th grade**
Today we saw some wonderful presentations and projects. It's great to see creativity on display!
Then, we worked on letters to help us reflect on this unit and get ready for Back to School Night. These are homework tonight, due tomorrow.

**7th Grade**
Today we started a read aloud from the book Home of the Brave. It's about a young boy from Africa (we don't know where yet) who's a refugee resettled into Minnesota. It's told in free verse. It's wonderful. And it looks at poetry and Africa, which are the two main themes of the unit we're starting next week.
Then, students continued to work on their paragraphs from last week.
Rough drafts are due tomorrow so we can do some editing and revision in class. Final drafts will be due Wednesday for most of us.
