Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

**6th Grade**
Today we started off with 30 minutes of silent reading. Great to hear the sounds of pages turning as we dive into books!
After that, we continued to work on drafting our essays - introductions and body paragraphs!
Rough draft should be finished in class on Monday. RD must come to class at the beginning of the day Tuesday.
HW: Read 30 minutes over the weekend.

**7th Grade**
We started today by looking at The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. What great analysis and discussion.
Then we made found poems from a section of our own books. Here's a sample. Here's a rough set of instructions for what we did. Ours does not have to be about love.
HW: Read 30 minutes over the weekend. Be on the lookout for songs, poems, passages from books that you enjoy and might want to put in your anthology.
