Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

**6th Grade**
Today we worked on revising our narrative writing pieces. We will finish up final drafts of these next week. Here's the rubric and the editing checklist.
Tomorrow we are going to talk about concluding our expository essays, making the final drafts not due until FRIDAY.
HW: Bring final draft copy of first 4 paragraphs of expository essay to class tomorrow. We will then work on conclusions during class. Read 30 minutes - we will be re-calculating averages next week!

**7th Grade**
We started off today with an article about Africa since independence - what a great Junior Scholastic cover story!
Then we continued to work on publishing our creative writing anthologies. See yesterday's post for the timeline for completion!

  2. You can. Or you can use poems classmates wrote. Or you can use poems we examined in class. However you can find 6 poems, raps, short stories, or other pieces of creative writing that have metaphor, simile, personification, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, and imagery.
