Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Breman Museum

What a day. It was very emotional as students made their way through a gallery of stunning images, heard the testimony of survivors, and discussed the implications of the Holocaust. I was very proud of how maturely our students handled it - and so grateful to the parents and grandparents who came out to support us. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful day.
Our speakers charged us with the responsibility of telling others about what we have heard. Parents, please encourage your student to share what they have learned.
In class this afternoon, we reflected on our experience at the Breman Museum. Then we did a bit of work with pronouns - more to follow tomorrow! Finally, we worked on our book projects. We will have a bit of time tomorrow to finish those up and get ready to present. I encourage students to do some work at home if they need to. I am very excited to see what they bring in tomorrow!
For homework:
  • Any student who has not handed in their Book Reflection form off of their Just Read It packet should do so tomorrow
  • Think about presentations
  • Discuss today's experience with your family
See you tomorrow!
