Today we worked on demonstrative adjectives vs. demonstrative pronouns.
DA:
That book is good.
This shirt is blue.
These papers are very well written.
Those balls should be brought inside.
These are a kind of adjectives that tell WHICH ONE. They modify a noun, but the noun is still in the sentence and comes right after the demonstrative.
DP:
That is good.
This is blue.
These are well written.
Those should be brought inside.
All of those are pronouns that have taken the place of the noun in that sentence.
Then, we transitioned to the research project we had briefly discussed yesterday. Students are working with book clubs to research the parts of their historical fiction books that are actually true. We will be researching some more tomorrow, then working on a project to teach the class tomorrow.
ZAE: Bring in an independent reading book to start reading tomorrow.
**7th Grade**
We started off today working a bit more on our research. Students are doing an excellent job nailing down some answers to their "Want to Knows." We will research for another 45 minutes tomorrow and then turn it in to see where we've gotten. We will start to write research papers tomorrow.
Then, we did some peer revision and editing of our paragraphs. Final drafts are due tomorrow along with all process work.
Atlantys did a book talk about North of Beautiful and Nadia told us about Shiver. Two great reads to add to my list!
Lastly, we heard a wonderful chapter read aloud from Fenn and Ella. We will hear more tomorrow!
HW: Finish final draft. Due tomorrow. It's ok if you don't find time to read tonight.
Hey today Atlantys mentioned a website with the top 100 books in America. does any one know the site?????????????????????????????
