Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

**6th Grade**
Today we worked on peer editing and revising our Reading Response from last night to help make sure that everyone meets the standard. Most students did a great job of taking responsibility and revising during this time.
Then, we were introduced to our next project, Upstanders or Perpetrators in European History. Students had the opportunity to choose from this list of individuals from European history. Starting next week, we will conduct research and be graded according to this rubric. Can't wait!

HW: Read 30 minutes over the weekend. Record it on your chart. Food day next Tuesday - bring any European dish of your choice!

**7th grade**
We started with students writing a reading letter to their partners about what they've read this week. Rivers, if you're reading this, write to Xofia for Monday!
Then, Ms Sarah led us in a lesson on the slave trade.
We concluded by doing some creative writing about this topic.
More creative writing and work with the reading logs is coming our way Monday!

HW: Read 30 minutes over the weekend. Record it on your chart. Food day next Tuesday - bring any African dish of your choice!
Enjoy your weekend!!
