Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Becoming an Activist

Today we focused on our latest project. We broke up into partners, chose a topic, discussed the requirements and got to work. Students are off to a really great start on their research. I was VERY impressed today with how students shared their knowledge and resources. It was a proud day in 6C.
Lastly, we talked about the schedule of events for this project. It will look something like this:

Research: Th (14)/F(15). Due T(19)
Persuasive Writing: T(19)/W(20)/Th(21). Due M(25)
Choice Projects: Brainstorm F(22). Work in class: M(25)/T(26)/W(27)
Project Presentations: Th(28)/F(29)

So, that's our schedule for the next two weeks or so. Students know that they will be responsible for working on aspects of this project for classwork and homework during this time. The other homework that we will have is to work on current events reports due every two weeks.
