Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Sharing Mapping the Seedfolks

Today started with students excitedly sharing their Mapping the Seedfolks stories. It was so much fun to discover the uniqueness of each individual story.
After that, we kept working on the book project. Students seem to be well on their way to some wonderfully creative, successful projects.
For homework tonight, please continue to work on your book project so that it will be ready to turn in by the beginning of class Friday (unless something else has been arranged in an individual conversation).
Can't wait to see even more creativity flowing tomorrow!

Also, for those not going out of town this weekend, please keep in mind the Decatur Book Festival. It's chock-full of fantastic, book-related events for young and old alike. I will give extra credit to anyone who writes me a letter or shares with the class about their experience!
