Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Tuesday: Celebrity Day (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber (sp?), etc)

Wednesday: Twin Day (choose another person to dress just like)

Thursday: Decades Day (1980s, 60s, etc)

FRIDAY: School Spirit Day (wolf costumes, blue/white, face paint, etc)

**6th Grade**
Today we started off with some research in the computer lab. We were trying to find out about the geographic and historic setting for our myth as well as the indigenous people of the place.
Then, we worked on conjunctions!

**7th Grade**
Today we worked on our mechanics work. Each student has a highlighted list of tasks they need to complete by Monday, April 25. We planned out how many items this means we need to do every day between now and then and spent some class time working on this.
Then, we learned some info about Chinese Acrobats. If you haven't yet brought your permission slip, please do so by MONDAY as we will be going on the field trip then.
Finally, we were introduced to our next Research and Writing project. We will start research next week on our chosen topics within the Middle East. These include the position and rights of women, the US involvement, oil, and the Arab-Israeli conflict. After research, we'll write journalistic pieces.
HW: If you didn't finish your required number of sheets for today, you need to so that you don't fall behind on this work. Don't forget your lunch for Monday.
