Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

**6th Grade**
Today we finished turning in our MadLibs, read for 20 minutes, then started working on conjunctions!
After that, we revealed the winners of our Mythic Creatures Creation Contest! Congrats to Asha and Ta'Ra for creating the winning creatures! I hope those get to play a role in your myths!
Then, we got this introduction to our new project: Mythological Research and Writing! The myth research started today with KWLs. More research to come tomorrow!
HW: Read and finish filling out your bookmark!

**7th Grade**
Today we started out with some silent reading. Then, we worked through some articles from VOX. We're getting ready to start a journalistic writing unit next! Cant wait!
For our VOX articles we EITHER wrote a letter to the editor about a VOX story OR completed brainstorming/focusing for our own idea about writing a piece.
If you didn't finish this in class, please do so for HW.
HW: Read and finish filling out your bookmark! Finish VOX assignment if necessary.
