Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Upstander Choice Projects

Expository Essays were due today. I can't wait to read them!
We heard a news report from Xofia about films being discovered from the World War II era. She wanted to share this link to the article from the NY Times. From there you can access some of the footage that we were not able to view in class.
After that, we continued working on our Upstander Choice Projects. There's such a variety of things going on in class: we've got dioramas, crossword puzzles, magazines and more in the making! These should be completed in class and are due Friday.
Finally, we are back on the grammar train. Today we began our study of adjectives. Adjectives are words which give us more information about the nouns in a sentence. For homework, students need to READ the top of the "Here's the Adjective" handout and complete the five diagramming activities at the bottom of the page.
We've got a great day on tap tomorrow: More adjective talk, a news report from Asa, and more work on our choice projects...see you then!
