Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Seedfolks continued

Today we welcomed a new member to our team.  Ms. Laura has returned from her wedding in Minnesota to join our class!  We thank Mr. Riley for his time in our room and welcome Ms. Laura enthusiastically.
In class we continued work on our vocabulary words, read Ch. 10 and 11 of our novel, and added a few more countries to our Seedfolks maps.  We had an engaging discussion about the interrelationships of the characters of Seedfolks.
Tonight: Students have no homework.  Enjoy a midweek break from Humanities!
Upcoming: On Friday we will have a vocab check-in for the 8 words we have been working on this week as well as an assessment of our ability to use the active reading strategies we've been learning in class.
