- Rubric
Then, we started working on our final portfolio eligible reading project of the year. This project, analyzing myth of Oceania, is due by Friday. We will work on it tomorrow and Friday in class.
HW: Read as always. Write the first 5 sentences (at least) of your Mad Lib story. Skip lines. Hi-lite or underline and label the parts of speech. If you didn't finish reading your myth, do so tonight.
**7th Grade**
Today we had some computer lab to find articles for our Analyzing Journalism project. Here is the rubric for this portfolio eligible reading piece. Students can choose articles about whatever they want as long as their 3 articles represent 3 different types of journalism. For each of the 3 articles, students will follow this annotation, reflection, and analysis procedure.
Our goal is to have all 3 pieces finished by Friday. So... do at least one complete article procedure by tomorrow.
Then, we wrote a complex sentence story. What a challenge! Here's the prompt:
Imagine you are on a game show or episode of reality TV. Describe what happens, why you are there, how it's different than your expected, etc. Have fun writing about this one using ONLY complex sentences!
As a reminder, here's the project sheet and rubric for this portfolio eligible writing assignment. The goal is to have a completed draft of ONE story edited in class tomorrow so we can bring a final draft to class on Friday. That way we can trade with a partner and do the steps that need to be done over Spring Break.
HW: Read. Finish at least one article annotation, summary, and reflection. Final project due Friday.
hey mrs glow so if we don't want any homework for spring break we just have to finish our journalism stuff, sentence structure, and that will be it?

Elijah:
ReplyDeleteYour journalism stuff is due before the break. Your sentence structure story is due on Friday. However, on Friday you will switch stories with a partner and need to edit that for sentence structure over the break. It really should be very minimal HW.
