Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

**6th Grade**
Today we talked about D-Day.
We read informational text about D-Day, a primary source message from General Eisenhower in case D-Day had failed, and a narrative text focusing on the assault on D-Day.
Tomorrow we will continue to talk about this.
Homework: Read your assigned chapters. Finish reading "Dispatch from D-Day" narrative text if you did not do so in class.

**7th Grade**
Today Ms Sarah taught a lesson about the Old Kingdoms of Africa - Ashanti, Zulu, and Egyptians.
Tomorrow students will teach each other about the major accomplishments of these extraordinary accomplishments.
Then, we talked about metaphor. Lastly, we introduced this project. We will be working on our African Creative Writing Anthology until Thanksgiving - so don't feel stressed about having this done any time soon. We will be writing in class for the next several weeks.
Homework: Read 30 minutes. Finish writing 4 metaphors on your worksheet. Write one metaphor about each of our climate zones (rain forest, savannah, sahel, desert).
