Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Day 2!

6th Grade:
Today in 7th Grade we discussed rewards (how you know when you did something right) and consequences (how you know when you need improvement). We discussed things ranging from smiles and "The Look" to positive calls home and referrals.
Then, we talked about "Killer Statements" and had a burial ceremony for all the nasty words that people sometimes say to each other. Those aren't welcome in this classroom.
Finally, we talked a bit more about 8 Kinds of Smart and how students can utilize their multiple intelligences in this class.
For homework, students should complete ONE SIDE of the survey sent home "Who Are You as a Reader?"

7th Grade:
Today in 7th Grade we discussed rewards (how you know when you did something right) and consequences (how you know when you need improvement).
Then, we finished working on our shields. We're going to share and work with these tomorrow. If they aren't done, students should finish tonight for homework.
Also for homework, students should complete ONE SIDE of the survey sent home "Who Are You as a Reader?"
