Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

Adverbs & Reading

I am so happy to be back! I missed everybody!
Today we continued doing what we've been doing all week - reading and talking about adverbs.
We are looking particularly at characterization as we read this novel. Working with a group that is tracking the same character, students are tracking how the author portrays a certain character.

For HW: Please read up to Chapter 5 of Before We Were Free and continue to track your character using the graphic organizer. No need to complete a Reading Response tonight. You also have a tiny bit of adverb homework: To What Extent?
Some people have news reports due tomorrow. IF you have not yet finished, please prioritize working on Before We Were Free homework tonight. You can work on your news report over the weekend if it is not yet finished - they can be turned in Monday.
See you tomorrow for more interesting predictions, connections, and evaluations of our ever developing book.
