Fernbank Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 12, we are taking a field trip to the Fernbank Museum to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit. Should be great fun! Here's the permission slip in case yours went missing.

READ!!

Our homework, in 6th and 7th Grade, is to READ in a quiet, dedicated space for 30 minutes (at least 15 pages) each and every night. Students should record the number of pages they read on their Reading Calendar.

**6th Grade**
Today we:
1) Worked on a foldable verb review. Students need to finish this for HW. Assessment Monday.
2) Talked about how an author's use of language impacts our feelings about a story. Then we practiced using our our own nouns, verbs, and adjectives to create a certain feeling in a short piece of writing.
3) Got a brief update on the situation in Egypt. More tomorrow.

HW: Read 30 minutes as always. Finish verb foldable by tomorrow.

**7th Grade**
Today we:
1) Worked to develop a thesis statement to guide our upcoming essays.
2) Watched an emotional movie about the Taliban in Afghanistan
3) Got our comp books checked

HW: Read 30 minutes. Revise comp books - MOST were incomplete - look at the comments you got today and revise it for a better grade. Do it tonight or come see me for lunch/tutorial.
